There is no doubt that both Manuka honey and Sidr honey are exceptionally beneficial honeys. Both are mono-floral, medicinal, rare and held in high regard across the globe.
Manuka honey needs no introduction to the Australian community, so in this article we will focus more on Sidr honey.
Sidr honey is produced by a native bee species, Apis mellifera jemenitica, and has been used for medicinal and ceremonial purposes for millennia. It is a traditional gift to royals, official dignitaries and grooms across the Middle East.
Our Sacred Yemeni Sidr honey in particular, is more than just a delicious superfood. It’s proven to have an antimicrobial activity level of 58.2 T.A which puts it in the class of the most medicinal honeys in the world.
With increasing scientific studies confirming its potency, Sidr honey is known as the Manuka of the Middle East and full of therapeutic benefits. Whether it’s colds, infections, inflammation or wounds, our Sidr honey has the proven medicinal properties to alleviate ailments, prevent illness and nourish our bodies for better health.
Unlike Manuka honey, Sidr honey has a delicious taste which is uniquely influenced by the rich soils of Yemen and the Sidr tree, creating a rich and luxurious flavour that is unforgettable and easy to love by the whole family.
Harvested only twice a year, this extremely rare honey is a thick liquid gold with a lavish and buttery sweet taste. It’s golden amber colour evokes the same aromatic smell of the Sidr as it flowers each October.
Sidr honey is a monofloral honey, made solely from the nectar of the Sidr trees in Yemen. The Sidr Tree (Ziziphus spina-christi), grows wild and uncultivated in the rich soil of the Hadramaut Valley and is considered sacred in Yemeni culture. It has many medicinal uses from bark to berries that locals have taken advantage of for centuries. Scientists have recently discovered that the tree itself possesses antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal, antiviral and immune stimulatory activity that is harnessed into the pure, raw honey that the bees cultivate.
Laboratory tests have confirmed that Sidr honey is a super honey. Just like Manuka honey, Sidr honey is full of superior anti-bacterial, antifungal and antibiotic properties. Sidr honey has incredible results when used internally and also topically. You will visibly see your wounds, infected wounds and burns heal with zero or minimal scarring.
Just like Manuka, Sidr has been tested against MMSA and MRSA the results speak for themselves:

(Please keep in mind not all sidr honey is the same, this test was conducted with a Sidr honey that has high total activity value. Only Sidr honey with tested antimicrobial activity should be considered when using medicinally)
Sidr honey has an incredible taste that consumers have said is addictive. Honey that tastes delicious and has proven itself medicinally, is a very rare find.
Given the sweeping array of uses for Sidr honey, it’s a good idea to keep your pantry and medicine cabinet stocked with a jar or two. It’s an amazing nutritional supplement, sweetener, and medicine that the whole family will love.
